Android Question Block infrared

Hello all,

I am very unsure this question will bring any answers as i am not sure this is even possible.

I have a TV with android on it, my app is in kiosk mode on it and i am using a remote (keyboard) to control it. That remote has a single Infrared button "POWER".

I was wondering if there was a way to "CATCH" the infrared before it actually turns off the TV, (the way it does it is natively and i don't want it to do that...) and therefore block it?

Thanks.

Y.

I do not have such a TV. But i guess it is not possible to catch it.
Probably your App does not get informed about this as the TV is not sending shutdown messages to App. It just reacts on the Powerbutton and power off the TV.

You even can not intercept it on your pc if you just Power off the PC using the PowerSwitch on the Backside... The PC just stops. No matter if there are Windows or any app running or not.

Maybe this is the issue with your TV too.

may you find a config with KEY_POWER in os or
if you hate this POWER button at keyboard then you can remove the contact surface.
