Blockchain as a metaphor for the unidirectionality of time.

A few nights ago, I was having a drink after work (there's a shocker ?), while browsing YouTube. I came across a physics related posting about the nature of time (always one of my personal favorite subjects). Well, as most of you technical types likely already know, one of the explanations for the apparent unidirectionality of time is because of the increase of entropy in a closed system (good explanation here) as time moves forward. As I am currently learning about blockchain, I had the sudden epiphany that the blockchain's immutability & decentralization is quite analogous to the unidirectionality of time as it relates to the 'fabric' of spacetime. The blockchain can only be added to .... and there is a consensus through checking the decentralized 'copies' that nothing past has been altered. Contrary to writing history, whereby for instance, the victors of a skirmish/battle usually write the history to make themselves or the cause look more noble, a blockchain by it's very design is 'what actually happened'.

Food for thought ? .....
