Bluetooth java.IOException:Service discovery failed

Hi,

Im new with B4A. I tried a little bit with the different examples and was able to build a little network app using TCP. But I need to communicate with my notebook via bluetooth. When I try the 'serial' example, it shows me the paired devices so bluetooth is enebled. When I select my notebook, it takes 5 second and I get the error message:

java.IOException:Service discovery failed

In another forum thread I found use 'Connect3'. But when I use this, I get the error message: Connection refused

This is a common problem in Android.
Try unpairing the device and pair it again.

Can you post the complete stack trace that appears in the logs for these two errors?

I have the same problem with a Citizen CMP10 blue tooth printer using SPP. The printer will pair with no problem but when I try to connect it dies on service discovery. I have the latest serial library and have literally tried all the options for secure connection and insecure connection.

Curiously the Citizen CMP20 bluetooth printer (the next version - about two or three years younger) connects and works fine.

Also curious is that both printers work with absolutely no problems under Windows Mobile.

Tried unpairing and pairing without success. The filterd log does'nt show any event. The unfiltered log shows a lot of bluetooth events.

How can I send you the unfiltered log? Is the a generated logfile? Sorry for this question, but I'm new in B4A.

I found the problem. It was not on the android side - it was on the windows side! Now I can connect my android to my windows notebook and I can transfer date in both directions. Thank you.
