broken screen phone possible usages besides papper-weight?

I guess the title says it all...

One of my step-sons broke his phone's screen, and since its a cheap one, no use in getting it fixed...
the problem is, since there's no read out, how can I install/ use an app from it, even if its a simple kind of auto-starting server or the likes?

USB cable & ADB-drivers. Someone here did the same thing (broken tablet screen -> B4A server). I don't find the thread...

I think PC should have been authorized (trusted) already .
