I had this weekend a burglary,

all my development phones where stolen and more...

HTC Magic, Samsung s5570, Galaxy S2, Huawei S7

Can this communicty work together to make an application which runs
as a service, which can protect the phone.

e.g.

1. Set alarm when phone is moved from a location
2. send automatic gps locations.

suggestions are welcome

sending an alarm when it's moved from a location would be pretty annoying.

Imagine going to the store, and your phone starts yelling at you...

there is a app of 'Wheres my droid' which is free...

You can set it up, and if you text the phone (even on silent) it'll set off an alarm (if you misplaced it),

but it also has it so if you send a text saying like 'GPS my droid' it'll send you back the gps location

This of course when you set the alarm , and put e.g. the phone on your desk

Ow man, that's bad :s.

You should have had Tracked! installed :p
(http://www.b4x.com/forum/basic4android-share-your-creations/8652-tracked.html && https://market.android.com/details?id=xtremelyvirtualstudio.xvs.tracked)

Has a lot of features like Auto sim checker.
will check if there is another sim is in the mobile phone and will notify you with the new phone number when the phone has rebooted.

Also has features with alarm, alarm stop, take picture with the camera, audio recording, gsm triangulation, GPS Localization and auto callback.

This works with sms's and every code is customable.

sold 60+ of them.

Do you know if the thief has already switched from SIM Card?

The problem is.

When they steal the phones they know what phones they steal.

They remove immediately the sim card.

And reset the phone, so the application is then not helping.

I was more looking for solution when my phone is e.g downstairs and i ;am sleeping on the first floor I can set an alarm on my phone, so when it's moving
from it's place it direclty send an sms and give an 120 db audio sound

It's not always true that thiefs know what they steal, even if its an android smartphone. A lot of people I know don't even know what android is. And mostly they only throw away the sim card.

Actually, to get back to the alarm, I already had such an idea for an update of Tracked. You could use the phone's orientation sensor to detect a movement and play a loud alarm. Maybe just lay your phone there with a start and stop button. When start button is pressed, let the sensors detect the orientation and wait for five seconds to calibrate. When phone picked up or moved, so the orientation has changed, a loud alarm will play for X amount of seconds that you choose. After those seconds, the stop button is enabled. ( this in case the burglar wont be able to stop the alarm immediatly, and you will be able to hear it.)
