    hi
my app has a main activity with a background image. I placed three buttons and depending on which I press I make a visible panel. on some phones work perfectly and when a panel is visible covers the buttons. on nexus 7 the Activity buttons are always in the foreground even when a panel is visible.

    which can be the cause?

Are you running OS 5.x on the Nexus? The default behaviour of buttons in Lollipop is they are in the foreground, above all other views.

You could use Holo by default by adding this to your Manifest

    Code:
    SetApplicationAttribute(android:theme, "@android:style/Theme.Holo")

Not a problem, a feature ;) Lollipop defaults to buttons being above all other views with capitalised text. Glad you got it sorted.
