Are Android touch-screens suited to this sort of program which requiires precision pointing? I'm sure that I have read comments here which imply not. (One of the reasons for my ruling out the idea of buying one.)
It depends upon the type of screen. My cheap Chinese 7" tablet has a resistive touch screen, like most Windows Mobile device have, which enables precise positioning with a stylus. My phone has a capacitive screen which requires the use of a finger tip and is very imprecise.
