Can no longer connect to real device

Hi all

I am very new to this and am really baffled.
I started writing my app this morning and was getting on just fine - I could download to Emulator and to real device.

I unplugged my phone when I went out and plugged it back in later and now I can no longer download to it.

Same USB cable
Same USB socket on PC
Checked that USB debugging is still turned on.

When I plug in the device tells me it has a USB connection and I can see the device in 'My Computer' on Windows XP.

I have tried restarting the ADB server

Any help very welcome

PS.

I just did a bit more searching and tried running:-
ADB devices

and got the reply:-

CM7-Skate offline

It has correctly found my phone but why is it offline??
