how can I check this (see title) ?

Is there a function for this?

Not sure that I understand. You cannot test whether the device is set to "do not disturb mode" or silent mode.

And when the notification arrives, it is handled by the OS. Not your app.

Not sure that I understand. You cannot test whether the device is set to "do not disturb mode" or silent mode.

My app is a countdown timer.
The last seconds are counted down with a beep or a voice (10, 9, 8,..).
If the device is set to “Do not disturb” or “Mute”, the user cannot hear anything.
It would therefore be good if the app displayed a corresponding message at startup.
