I have been fairly heavily pounding Claude Code with the "pro" subscription - using the most modern available model (Opus 4.8 at time of writing) with effort set to Extra.
I find I can regularly use up my 5 hour limit well inside 5 hours.
If I start at 10am (I'm retired) this can mean the 5 hour limit runs out at say 2pm but does not reset until 3pm - and I am left fiddling my thumbs for a couple of hours - and I only get to use 2 hours of the next 5 hour window - because I down tools at 5.
If however, I give Claude a minor prompt when I get up (8-9am) then go have breakfast then the 5 hour window will reset at 1-2pm - resulting in less wasted time (if any) and more use of the second 5 hour window.
You will probably think this is obvious but it took me a while to click to it...
