Communicating with a HID device on USB port

Hi All

Has anyone directly communicted with a HID device ( using binnary packets) via the USB port

Note the device is a Thermometer, not a keyboard printer etc. so the protocal it very basic 64Bit packet sent 64Bit packet recieved.

No, but since my device has got USB host as well as slave I would like to be able to do so.
