Conversion from VB.Net

Hi,

My company has 3 large VB.Net projects that we currently use to create Windows Mobile apps. We are seriously considering moving to Basic4Android in order to also make these apps available on Android platforms.

Are there any conversion/import facilities to ease the migration from VB.Net?
If not, is there a comparison list of differences between Basic4android, Basic4ppc and VB.Net (or even VB6)?

Also, I'm not clear on basic4android v basic4ppc. Are they separate products? Can I use the same source code to deploy to Windows Mobile as Android?

Kind regards,

Pirie

Pirie, have a look here Basic4android (Basic for Android) - Android programming with Gui designer

all you need to know is somewhere in here there is a Beginners Guide also which has a section on vb6 ==> B4A. use the search facility top right hand corner. Download the beginners user guide from here www.b4x.com/android/files/UserGuide.zip

I have ported some Embedded Visual Basic programs and VB.net CF to android and I very much used cut and paste, coupled with the getting started got me up and going.

Any problems you hit along the way, just pop a question on the forum and somebody (a lot probably) will come back to you with some answers and tip on how you might resolve your issue.

This product has the best support ever and I really do mean that.

Regards

BOB

Basic4android and basic4ppc separate?

Hi Bob,

Actually there was one more part to my post. I see saparate forums for basic4android and basic4ppc, implying to me that they are separate products, one for Android and one for Windows Mobile. However, it seems to me that I can only download basic4android.

Are they separate products or it basic4android a single product capable of deploying to both platforms?

Peter
