Browsing the internet for interesting Android related software as I often do, I came across this freemp3fordroid - Open Source MP3 Encoder for Android - Google Project Hosting which may be of interest to some of you.
I can't offer support for this as I've not yet tried it, and don't have time to at the moment, but I thought I'd pass on the 'find' in case anyone want's to try it out.
