Date of Topic in the Header of the Topic

Now the date of placing a topic or a reply is in the footer of the topic.
Is it an idea to place the date in the header of the topic?
Then you can see immediately if a topic is recent or pretty old. Especially when you compare diifferent topics about the same subject. In my case I would go for the most recent one because I think that is the most actual one.
