Android Question Designer layout looking very different from in AVD

Dear All,

I would think that this is a general question, but I could not find an answer to it:

I´m using a Nexus 7 AVD clone with Android 4.2.2. Yes, not the most uptodate hardware to immitate, but that´s all I could get to run inside my vmware. I´m ok with this, as I can always test on other setups outside the vmware at a later point.
There´s one problem though, and I think it´s got nothing to do with the Android version, since other apps look fine in the AVD:

Whatever I design in B4As designer shows up as much smaller than how it looks in the designer. It´s like everything is scaled down to fit for instance a 3" rather than a 5" display.

I hope you can help here.

you have an option in the visual designer to "match the connected device", otherwise it will use and assume a lower screensize/resolution

Hmm, that did not change anything.. Only thing which worked was using an AVD with a very low resolution, then it fits. Anyway, does the mentioned option in designer guarantee that it will look correct on any phone, once converted to apk?

No, it guarantees that it will look right in phones with the same screen specs as the designer's.
You need to search the forum, read the beginners guide and try the Cloud UI...
Then you will be asking the right questions!

I realized that my answer is to use the anchors in the designer - now all looks how it should! Just for the convenience of other new folks running into these problems..
