Device Locator App

My app is deployed in a restaurant. I am concerned if some customer ever walks off with one of the tablets. I'm not quite ready to dive into developing my own "locator" app, so just wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to the best one currently available or maybe one you have written?

have you tried "wheres my droid" available in marketplace. You can have it send you gps coordinates if its lost. Problem with it (as well as any other program like it) is if your tablet does not have its own internet(it cant be wireless only, it has to have something like 3g or 4g) it wont be able to update you until it is logged onto the internet. And honestly I don't know how "where's my droid" would react without internet. My guess is it would try to send the the text then fail. Maybe it would retry to send once it got internet but I would guess it would send old coordinates stored in the unsent text, but as soon as you got the text you could requery for new coordinates. But who knows.

i haven't used any, but there are plenty out there. If I were you I would get one that has a remote wipe feature, because the data is more valuable than the tablet.
