Do we all have too much tech

Well I was saying to my partner Joanne that I've basically had enough of buying my tech. Things like my laptops I will automatically change every 3 years, but also things like my audio and video equipment is easily audiophile quality as I absolutely hate what I call absolutly terrible sound. Anyway Joanne has banned me from spending on audio and video equipment, but I'm relatively happy with that stuff anyway, I love my NX series TV's and also my Dali's.

I have a few hobbies like 3D Heli flying, mountain biking, snooker, macro photography with spares, but it's mainly tech that I really do now believe that I have way too many devices (this does not include IoT devices, I need more of those. I also have a lot of 450/550 Heli parts (I'm slowly getting rid of all the 550 parts though as I prefer flying my 450's heli's, and the repair bill is less too :p).

So I for one have decided to stop buying tech and upgrading basic devices like phones and tablets so often, actually I've sold lots of devices already on a certain auction website that I'm not getting paid to promote so I'm not going to mention their name lol. Actually I've sold lots of spare TV parts, a couple of laptops, a computer, phones, tablets, an old pair of missions, two sets of allow wheels, a spare reconditioned Kompressor, car audio equipment, multiple Vibe car speakers, Escort Cosworth ECU already chipped, M3 ECU, spare 7.1, barcode scanners, blu-ray player, 2 touch screen monitors (mainly used for epos development), spare epos hardware, 3 spare 22" monitors and other bits and bobs in the last few weeks, some power tools and I still have lots more in the loft to get rid of. Oh yes I've also been selling a lot of items on Gumtree.

My home is nice and tidy, all tech and spares that I do not use are neatly hidden away in the loft or shed soon to be sold. But it's mainly phones and tablets that I've been selling and they are almost all gone now apart from my main ones. Joanne is giving lots of her old clothes away to charity, and I'll do the same shortly.

I basically had enough and decided to just get rid. I do work really hard and enjoy these things, I buy a lot of things just for learning purposes or for clients projects, but I just have to much now and it's all being sold.

So my question is a simple one. Do we have way to much tech laying around doing absolutly nothing, and if so is it time to sell it all?

I think that is a life question for each person. One thing I did though a few years back was donate much of my old computer equipment to a local school.
