Couldn't be bothered to watch that far. It wasn't worth the time.

@aeric I've seen one of his videos (actually about 2 or 3 or 4) before, one was about software developers and their opinions on different lungless (or the tools that they use). If I remember correctly that particular video was based on some extremely well knows developers comments that can be founds on Stack Overflow, good video.

I don’t hate Java. People who like it will continue to like it, people who dislike it will always not.

I used to hate it because JVM to me seems like a fake method for cross platform and its performance impact in old days. Usually I use C/C++ for industrial (signal processing & machine vision) programming, matlab/python in my work, then Android forces me to learn a little bit java, then I met B4A/J.
Now I use B4J for quick making windows tools with its amazing WYSIWYG ide and I found I still need to learn Java if I want to use some other java libs. Now I don't hate it anymore as I found there are also many libs available and performance is not a big issue for modern computers.

No no no, that can't be correct. I've heard the video is ”an inaccurate load of rubbish”.
It happened yesterday. A head hunter text me for a job opportunity. It’s a team lead position in a some kind of pharmaceutical company. I read the job requirements and descriptions. It requires .NET Core and MVC thingy. I told the head hunter I am not fit into the job. She asked me why, as in my resume I stated I have experience in C#, MVC and .NET. I told her I stopped at .NET framework 4.5 and don’t want waste my time on .NET Core which is not stable and breaking in version 2. Since that I moved to a platform call B4X. Not surprisingly, she never heard of it. This situation has happened many times when I rejected many similar offers. I really don’t feel comfortable with C# and have no much hope for .NET Core but in my local market, people always see Microsoft .NET and C# as a shiny piece of technology. I just don’t own such a glasses to see that. Even I accept such an offer, I don’t think I will work long. So, the best choice is I don’t go for it but stay on B4X. With B4X, I can work with Java, Objective-C and C++. Yes, I need to also relearn C++ and Python for my coming B4R projects!
I agree that Oracle is evil in some cases. They are public listed company who need to answer to their shareholders and focus on making profit.
