Do you like controversy ?

Hello,
Some software editors dislike controversy. In my case, I always saw it like a way to improve my products or services.

There is, for me, nothing better than someone reporting bugs or expressing himself about what I provided. In the contrary, someone who just leaves with the product or not reporting, is a lost consumer.

Of course, it is sometime hard to stand with some rude words but, in the same time, if one is willing to express himself, it is probably because he cares about what I did provide.

What do you think about ?

I'm not sure what you really mean by controversy, but at least in my case, when I report bugs on other people's apps I'm very direct and objective, if the app is good I will say it and if it sucks I will also say it.

I also expect the same treatment from other developers/users regarding my own apps. (even though my apps are always perfect )

I like the contradiction. I do not tolerate people who say only "yes" (called "YES MAN") who only seek to capture benevolence. Comparison helps improve.

In this I would make exceptions:
I do not want sterile controversies. Talk about just pleasure in contradicting others. I do not like anyone who does nothing to him.
That's why I avoid discussing with those who do it by profession. He has more and more experience of me, and he does not want to become the third quarrel or open up other quarrels.

In the last absolute rule: it is best to never discuss with a stupid, others may not grasp the difference between you and him.

I voted I don't care first, but then, reading your post, I understood that you meant "criticism", and I changed my voting accordingly.

There are, IMHO, 2 types of criticism:

Constructive; "I like your app, but I would implement this feature in a different way, and add that other feature to it."
Destructive; "Your app is worthless, it does nothing it claims to!"

Then, there's the semi-constructive or neutral criticism; "I like your app."

I welcome every constructive Critic, because it's meant as a way to improve the product, and points are made that can lead to a really great product.
I usually don't give much attention to destructive critics, since normally they have no valid arguments and only want to "say something".
The neutral ones are just that, and receive absolutely no attention.

I was going to vote as the person I'd like to be and only sometimes I am: criticism is good as long as it helps me to improve.

My first thought when I receive some critics, and I can't prevent it, is: Who the h**ll u think u are, c'mon wanna program it yourself??? Ehhh? You think it was easy, no? Can you even type your name with the keyboard??

But I open my mouth and say: thanks so much, it's always good to learn from others

I would add that criticisms are inevitable, both useful and useless. Everyone sees things in a different way, and that's good. The world would be monotonous.

So whether we are aware or not, someone is criticizing us. Also for what we wrote in this thread, or maybe just because we wrote something. If they do not send us an email where they want a response to criticism, we do not have to respond. It makes no sense to put in critical speeches to take a chest.

To make an example of how you look at distance two men who argue animally whether it's better to iOS or Android and i'm coming I'm in the middle of screaming stronger than them to say that Symbian is the best (because i have an old Nokia 3310 ) .... Does it look strange to you? It happens
