Have you ever taken your programming skills outdoors?
How do you feel about taking your laptop out for a spin and do some coding in the open?

I'm a stationary PC kind of guy, but if I had a proper laptop + time, I'd certainly would get some work done on the outside. :)

I never used b4x with a desktop.. in fact I don't have a desktop and don't intend to buy one!
Not in the open but my favorite workplace is my home office then Starbucks. I enjoy working in Starbucks because..
The environment is very healthy with many people doing the same and with students working on their projects for free!
Besides the coffee!

I have tried, but there are way too many distractions!

sun & LCD screens don't really match, no matter how you turn you never have a clear view as inside (unless it's dark ;) )

Doing it outdoors

hmm sounds interesting..

oh, no...it's all about programming :(

eheheh

Seriously now. It tried it a few times but found it too distracting. I need deep silence to be really productive so I tend to program early in the morning or late in the night (preferably early in the morning when the family is asleep and the phone is not supposed to ring).

Why is there no solar charger for out side?
We could use the sun to charge our laptop and like this enjoy coding in the nature.

I would like to do that. Noise does not distruct me i have 3 very loud kids :D

Every year I work on several excavations, where I use B4A Programming (GPS, Mapping and so on). I have a very simple office there, some years ago it was only an umbrella,

in the last year we did some investments and installed a new blue tent, which suffers a lot, from the strong wind in anatolia...;-)

The future is already here!

for your laptop you probably need more juice. 19V instead of the 5V that most solar batteries deliver.

edit: the voltaic @aeric pointed at does it but it too expensive if you only use it a few times a year.

@udg Hilarious!! I thought the same thing, got to get our minds out of the gutter. All of a sudden the forum took a new turn!o_O

As sorex mentioned screens and the sun don't match well. You may find yourself changing resolutions/screen styles from indoors to outdoors.
More work than necessary.

I have a 12 to 110 adapter so I can as well work from my car.. I use my 4g mobile data (tethering) so my phone is converted to router. Then stop anywhere and start punching the keys. I have dodge caravan so no space problem.. Call it mobile office.
