KMatle Expert Licensed User Longtime User Nov 23, 2020 #25 No need for high end hw to develop, guys. I have this machine for 4 or 5 years now (added an ssd). So I can sit on my couch and do some stuff. I guess it's not slower in compiling than your machines (compiling does not support multicore/multithreading, right?). So it's 6.5 secs instead of 8 ? I spend my money on drinks instead.

There's nothing shameful about being good at taking care of your equipment so you can use it for a long time. Beside my workstation, I've got a laptop that's 12 years old, and I have absolutely no plan to replace it. (Also, for the longest time I used a plastic Asus EEE netbook, which I loved dearly until it stopped working one day.)
