Hello,
I've got now a problem with the file manager or rather the Designer. Added image files go into the right directory, but they are not in the image list to select them for an image view. Before it worked fine, the elder files are still selectable. I tried out this even in a new project, it's the same. Even after new installation of B4A the problem is not solved. Any ideas? Thank you!

Thanks, I found out the following for dummies like me:
The file manager in the IDE B4a does not work anymore for reasons I cannot fathom.
In the designer, files can be added to the inventory by klicking the last menu item called "Windows" and then klick on "files". Then and only then a list is presented in the designer which allows to add or delete files to the inventory in DirAssets. Easy if you know it, well hidden for dummies.

Nothing so complicated.
Look at the image posted by @teddybear :
It's enough to use that Add Files to add images usable on the Designer.
And these images will be found even in the IDE files list.
No, its not complicated, its just well hidden. For people who were brought up with the old designer now deprecated, files were added with the file manager in the IDE and that worked like a charm. I have hundreds of apps that worked that way. Then it did not work anymore without a hint as to why. And yes it works now with the "new" designer, but its not obvious at all as the file list is not presented when you open up the designer.
