Android Question Filter RGB separate from a Image

Hi,
it's possible to filter Red, Green and Blue from a Image?
I want to draw on a Canvas, overlaying a Red, Green and Blue version of the same Image, to have a cool retro VHS effect.

Probably I should get every pixel from the image to form the new image, but only taking the Red color and ignoring the rest...
But idk how to do that :/
