Forum date display format

How do you change the date display format for the forum posts?

Mine currently displays it in MM/DD/YYYY format, which makes for interresting (and annoying) reading when you are used to the international standard of YYYY/MM/DD.....

I cannot find any setting under user that will allow me to change it....

The date format is shared by all members. There is no simple way to change that.
