Good bye radio

My use of over-the-air radio, which I assume you are saying good bye to, has really gone down anyway. I keep my music and assorted podcasts that I downloaded on a flash drive that I plug into my dashboard when I'm driving. At the office, with all the electrical noise, and being somewhat buried within the building, I can't get a radio signal anyway so I'll stream stuff or bring the flash drive in and listen through my computer.

My biggest reason I stopped listening is the song to commercial ratio was almost 1:1. I'm in the Chicago market so there is a fair amount of revenue to be had by the local stations. The only time I listen to over-the-air radio is if I'm on the road or outside and I want to listen to a live sporting event. The hosting stations are not allowed to stream them.

I still remember in the eighties when some people were carrying their (furniture) and walk in the street. A two feet long stereo radio with speakers set to high volume.

You mean I need to stop carrying my boom box around? :)
