Gee its Almost as old as some of us.....and practically as mature ?......
It was originally called BASIC when it started, but then Microsoft renamed it to Visual Basic. So, the name is no longer an abbreviation for four words, but a name in its own right, and the all capital letters (BASIC) changed to Basic.The BASIC programming language turns 60
