Sorry to report so "late"... My issue remains even without the custom launcher, so i'm figuring if mus be an issue with the memory usage of the screen interleave...
As I said, my device is in the lowest 20% of the TOP Devices you can buy.
I do have access to four other devices and will post results ASAP

Don't worry, you've already helped me a lot with the tests 
Still not solved, it's another wall to break before becoming millionaire ....or finding the next one
Will try to emulate with android 5.1 now that I have upgraded my SDK, and confirm/discard if it is due to the android version
