"Hello" from me

Hello guys!

I've decided to write this topic in order to introduce myself. I've been around for quite some time but now the right moment to write it has come. I dunno if there is such practice in this forum(to introduce yourself) but I have this habit from other forums.

Some of you already know me, some maybe do not.

My name is Penko Mitev, a 19-year-old programmer from Bulgaria(it's in Europe if you haven't heard about my country and a member of the European Union).

I am currently a first year student at the Technical University of Sofia(our capital city) with a major "Mechatronics" but I am from Plovdiv(the second town in terms of population).

I have started programming back in 2005-2006 when I made my first steps. At the beginning it was simple things like HTML,CSS, then went for PHP. At some point I upgraded to .NET(have had time spent on VB6) and started digging into it. Meanwhile, for school purposes, I got some knowledge on C++ as well.

When I was 16, I started programming industrial machines and other equipment. That's too different from ordinary programming languages and it resemblances more an electrical diagram(it was intended to be easy for electricians to use it) than a programming language. If anyone is interested, this is a good link to check out regarding LADDER programming. Ladder logic - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It is still my main activity and I am working on various projects. Please do not consider it an advertisment, I just want to show our activity - design, construction and manufacture of industrial machines, according to customer needs. It's too far away from Android programming. Our facebook page is: KMS Engineering | Facebook and http://kms-e.com is our website where most of the projects are posted in the form of photos and/or video. I am still not an engineer myself and do not work on the mechanics but all the electrical part(electrical panels + programming) is what my task is.... It's maybe 30 machines that have been programmed by me. Before that, a subcontractor guy has been at that position.

Now back to classic programming. Development for Mobile platforms is very interesting to me and I just haven't had the time to spend on this so far. What's more, I am not a Java expert and it was hard with Eclipse. I have to say a big "Thank You" to Erel who has put his energy into this project. What's more, he is giving perfect support in virtually no time and always has an answer to your questions.

Somewhere outside of programming and computer stuff, I like traveling and getting to know different cultures. A also like foreign languages. You can reach me in English, German, Italian or Greek so far but am planning to add a few more. I intentionally omit Bulgarian as I haven't seen other Bulgarians in this forum or maybe they haven't specified their Location on the profiles. I will do my best to present Basic 4 Android to friends and colleagues(we are far away from Computer Science provided that we study for Mechanical Engineers but nothing is sure, maybe someone will get attracted).

P.S I've just started with B4A so don't blame me for asking stupid questions. I am trying not to do so when it's possible.

That's for now,
Penko
