Android Question Hex calc input types keyboard

[Douglas Farias]

hi i want add auto complet and email to my edittext

email.InputType = Bit.OR(email.InputType, 0x00000020) ' Email
email.InputType = Bit.OR(email.InputType, 0x00010000) ' TYPE_TEXT_FLAG_AUTO_COMPLETE

how can i add this 2 ? *-*
0x00000020 + 0x00010000

[DonManfred]

don´t know whether it works or not but i would try

email.InputType = Bit.OR(email.InputType, 0x00010020)

[Douglas Farias]

i tryed this too xD dont work =(

[DonManfred]

did it work when you use BOTH commands?

[Douglas Farias]

The email is correct

public static final int TYPE_TEXT_VARIATION_EMAIL_ADDRESS

Added in API level 3
Variation of TYPE_CLASS_TEXT: entering an e-mail address.

Constant Value: 32 (0x00000020)

i m dont sure TYPE_TEXT_FLAG_AUTO_COMPLETE is same of this image
http://developer.android.com/resources/articles/images/inputmethod_composing_text_2.png

i need make a edittext with email + this image

for exemple i m put doidloko and show a option to select [email protected]

If you want to add your own options to the autocomplete you'll need to use something like: http://www.b4x.com/android/forum/th...ul-alternative-to-autocompleteedittext.19379/

Otherwise you'll end up with lots of incorrect prompts.

[Douglas Farias]

is much strange because i make this
email.InputType = Bit.OR(email.InputType, 0x00000020 + 0x00001000)
0x00000020 = email
0x00001000 = CAPS CHARACTES

and this works caps + email

give me problem only with
this autocomplete
http://developer.android.com/resources/articles/images/inputmethod_composing_text_2.png
+
0x00000020 = email

It looks like you really want suggestions rather than autocomplete. If you don't turn on the email variation, what you see are Suggestions. I can't see a way to turn those on, only off. So it appears that by setting the Email variation, it turns off the suggestions.

[Douglas Farias]

hmm realy thx for this information =)
and have a way to put only suggestion and later only add @character?

[stevel05]

I don't think so, not unless you can write a custom keyboard.

Will the suggestions really be any use to you? If you're entering email addresses, they are based on names which won't be in the suggestions until you've added them. But you'll also get lots of words suggested that you'll never want.

[Douglas Farias]

yes but dont wory =)
its is good because save the email´s
later when you go enter again in the app
you put for exemple doid and show u [email protected] *-*
but no problem i go use email without sugestion no problem =)
