Android Question how to hide the background while ProgressDialog is on

Hi,

As the title says, i am loading certain views in the background and i have called progress dialog to show a message but since it is only a small box it is showing the background layout. Is it possible to show only the progress dialog on the screen while blocking the background view?

Kindly provide your inputs and suggestions.
