How to read file from PC?

Hi

I wrote a database application which imports data from a csv file.
At the moment I copy the csv file to the android device and then import it.

For security reasons I don´t want the csv file on my android device
Is there a possibility to read the csv file directly from my laptop?
I like to do this via wifi but I don’t know the keywords to look for related to this topic.

Can someone give me some hints how to proceed?

There is no automatic way. You can host a FTP server or Http server on the desktop and then download the file.

You can also use B4AServer: Basic4android Search: B4AServer

What if you downloaded it to the app cache? that way there would be no more a copy on your device than there would be with an open file anyways. As soon as the app is closed the cache should be wiped right? Erel would know more about that.
