Yesterday a friend of me complained why I did not call back. Checking my Huawei Mate 10 lite there was no notification but an entry in missed calls. Today another friend called while I was driving and I wondered again why there wasn't any notification.
Solution: Due to some updates the last weeks they have accidently changed some settings which caused the phone app not to be allowed to show notifications anymore
At least they don't set new (= not in Huawei's whitelist) apps to "not allowed to run in the background when the screen is turned off". I had this with one of my apps which did not receive FCM messages. You can imagine that this made me mad while debugging (see my threads about FCM).
Summary: Even big players like Huawei sometimes have issues
