Hi,

I need to create an Icon for my application.

In help it only says that it must not be more than 256 colours. But what about pixel-size and format (png, jpeg, bmp)? Any specific instructions?

I found this by googling:

If your .exe is only designed for "Pocket PC" devices, use an application icon with these sizes:

16x16
32x32
64x64

But do I need to make 3 different icons?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Rgds,

You can use an app as awicons to create a 64x64 icon and then automatically crete a set os standart embed sized icons in one single .ico file...
Then, in acordance with the explorer and resolution available the correct sized icon will be shown.

Thanks Cableguy.

The problem is I won't be doing the icon myself. The idea was from one of the users of my application and he wanted to know some details as to the application icon which he would then pass on to some icon-designers.

BTW, maybe I didn't say so in my question but the icon is needed for a device. So what should I tell him? That I need an icon in 64x64 and that it should be saved in one .ico file and must be standard embed sized icons?

I don't know which program they will be using for creating the icon(s).
