I recently read that B4x relies on a syntax editor that's Windows only. I've found an alternative to Actipro's SyntaxEditor and it's written in Java. If B4x is re-written in Java, then every platform that supports Java would be able to run B4x. (Including Linux, OS X, and others.)
The syntax editor is called RSyntaxTextArea.
