What do you mean with in app navigation? Sounds like they are talking about the regular Android Google Maps sdk.

To me it sounds as if the Android Google Maps SDK provides navigation capabilities. Meaning being able to provide navigation without the user leaving our app.
Currently, we are invoking the Google Maps App to provide navigation, which is not as convenient.

what does this mean:
Ridesharing companies can embed the Google Maps navigation experience directly into their apps to optimize the driver and customer experience

I'm pretty sure that Google navigation service offers a web service that you can call to get the data.
