in some cases generate members in designer is disabled

Why (in what scenarios) the designer generate members function is grayed out ?

and what should I do about it ?

If they are grayed out is because you have selected a Service, Class or Code Module, views are only added to Activities.

so it remember the file I recently selected (comes from) Hmm
a bit strange beavior, but got it,
would be more user friendly in my mind , if
1. if only one activity exists, add it to that file
2. if more than one, prompt , allow user to "never ask me again"
