Just bought a moto g

I just got a moto g a few days ago. I needed a budget phone that is faster than my old Galaxy S2 but also not too expensive. First off, this thing is twice the speed of the S2 so feels great. And it has 4.4.2 installed out the box

There's a couple of things missing:
SD card slot
gyroscope
Headphone volume controls don't work (only tried samsung headphones)
Can't change battery (although battery is very good)

Extras it has over the S2
Speed
Better 3D graphics
720p screen is much better
Notification light
Latest Android version with official rom (no custom rom required)

I'm using it for B4A development and it's working great so far. I'd highly recommend it.

That's true. But I think it's the best value Android phone for under £100 right now. And perfect for B4A development as a middle of the range phone. I did think about paying extra for a Nexus 5, but then thought it would be better to develop on something more mid-range to suit normal Android users.

I agree. Its faster than my GS3 and the size is really good too.

I ran the antutu benchmark and it comes out very close to Nexus 4 performance. Not bad for £99.99 on pay-as-you-go
My plan is to use it to write some good apps/games, then use any moeny from them to fund a higher end device like a Nexus5 or Note3.

Today I bought the Moto G too, excellent phone! I came from a Motorola Defy, so the speed is just blowing my mind with this device . By the end of the year, if Google takes down the Nexus 5 price, I will consider to jump to that one..

I picked up a sim free 16GB Moto G on Saturday.
Very impressed so far.
It's gonna be my development device, i'll keep my S3 for day to day usage.

The Moto G once updated to KitKat uses the new Chromium WebView which promises better WebView performance especially when javascript is used.

It also gives the option to use either the default Dalvik runtime or the new 'still under development' ART runtime.
Again this promises better performance.

All in all the Moto G really is great value for money.
