The Kindle Fire "reserves 20px at the bottom of the screen" for a soft menu. Has anyone figured out a way to disable this? I'm building a data-acquisition app for internal company use and I want to make it difficult for the user to get out of it... any other tips to discourage employees from walking home with the device would also be appreciated. (besides the obvious threats about stealing company property!)
Interestingly enough, if you run the slingbox application, the meny IS hidden, the 20px at the bottom is still reserved, but the soft menu is hidden...
Wonder how they accomplish that?
The reader app that comes preloaded also hides the soft menu. If anyone can figure this out, it would really help me out a lot. Or some other way to make a fire more kiosk-like, to keep the non-owner users from messing where they do not belong. Got to be some way to lock this puppy down!
