Is there generally accepted blocks of text that we should use or can use as the core of our app license? Or can we just use what ever we think would be an OK app license?

Are you intending to release your application with a 'standard' license?

That link details some common 'standard' licenses that you can release an application under and from there you can get the license text that applies.

Otherwise i'm not sure - i think you'll have to create the text yourself and ensure that it covers all possibilities.

I'm creating a layout to display my license. I was thinking about putting a panel on this layout and then a Label to hold the license text. Do these components seem reasonable for this use?

A Label is the only component that can hold this kind of text correct?

A WebView is an alternative - and would allow 'fancy' formatting of the license text using CSS styles.

And of course a WebView can contain hyperlinks to other webpages (in your application assets or online) - these other pages could go into detail about the license.

So inititially the WebView could contain a brief summary of the license and the hyperlinks offer detailed info.
