I knew Taximania was about to get married, but I did not know the exact date...
So after seeing one of his last post I decide to Rise and speak up...or I would forever keep my mouth shut...

I got married bout 9 years ago...
Here in Portugal we have what is called a "pre-marriage course", wich aims to help the future wife and husband, to better preper to the ceremony and the life after it...
During this course the priest who was going to marry me and my wife, asked us...:
"why do you want to get married?"

After a short eternal silence in the room, where me, my wife and a few other couples listem to our "mentor", My voice erupted and proudly said....:

"To be happy!"

To my surprise, my answer was dimmed as wrong...
Why????

Well, Here's the priest explanation....:

"If you, during the course of you relationship, took the time to le the seed that was planted by you (Love) grow and florish, the you had already obtained the Happy state, and you could live together within that state...
But you have decided to take that relationship a step foward, and get married, allowing the flower that you so carefully nurished, to bloom, and give it's own seed...A familly...
So The real answer should be...To be HAPPIER...As a Familly."

I still remember that day, as those word made the greatest sense to me as no others have ever had...

Sorry for this "Speech"...
It was only to wish the newly(?) wed couple..

LIVE LONG, LIVE PROSPER.....BE HAPPIER!

HIP HIP! HURRAAAY! HIP HIP! HURRAAAY! HIP HIP! HURRAY!

Well,
in few days I'll "reach" the second year of marriage with my first wife.

I'll add, too, but with a little variation:
Live long and prosper!

Some fun of Star Trek will agree with me, I think.

BTW: in february I'll have a clone of me.

After 13 years of living together, we finally decided to wed.
There's no priest involved. It's a legal civil ceremony.

This may seem strange to some countries. But perfectly OK in the UK.

@Cableguy, I hope we meet some day :sign0060:

@ghale, WE, wish you all the best for your 'clone' :sign0140:

Strange? Why strange? Instead I think this is a good way for two people to marry.

Me and my wife after 12 years of engagement, decided to marry. 3 mounths after this decision, we marry. Veni, Vidi, Vici.

Taximania - congratulations, may you have a very happy life together.

ghale - I think you spend too much time on the computer, instead of being with your wife...
