It looks like they are joining the Google Habit, abandoning or deprecating good things suddenly.

This is most unlike Microsoft who, unlike Google, usually strive to maintain backwards compatibility. For example I'm still running Office 2002 with no problems on Windows 11 and XP Freecell and Minesweeper as I prefer the old UI to the newer ones. I wonder if there is an underlying problem with either keeping it up to date with Android versions or the reliance on Amazon Appstore that is causing this deprecation.

Probably because Amazon has shut their store in Microsoft store. they did email me about it. As WSA needed the amazon store to work, that's probably why it is removed.

Why not consider to switch to another app store? There is none exist?
