This is my first go at creating an app. I have always wanted to be able to stream music from my server (under my stairs) and listen to it in the car so I don't have to carry round gigs worth of mp3s. This is the result. Music is stored on my Linux box and this app creates a playlist using mysql and streams music from the server, downsampled on the fly at various banwidths. Playlists can be created and changed from any internet connected computer and this app will fetch the next song dynamically so the playlist is always up to date. I can have access to all my music (or my brother's in France/friends around the UK) wherever I have internet access. It also controls the Linux box if I want to play music around my house.
