Android Question NinePatchButton and Corner Radius

I am using NinePatchButton since the beginig of time and now I want to apply CORNER RADIUS and keep the image applied by NinePatchButton

I see that using NinePatchButton it applyes the image but the corner radius is lost, and if I try to apply the .background the image is lost

What is the correct procedure to have both applyed ?
