Which icon are you seeing? The default green icon?

Check if your icon file is saved under Objects\res\drawable.

Also make sure that the file is not too large.

not getting any icon at all, it should be the generic green now i havent added custom yet. the only way to find the app is in 'manage applications'. it's not in the app drawer under 'all'.

Try to manually uninstall the application and then install it again. It sounds like some device specific issue.
