PDFWriter variable text width and height

I have been creating PDF's using the PDFWriter and think its great! however I need to put more that a single line of text in the pdf, whats the best way of doing this? as I will be reading info from a database that varies in length. It would be great if I could specify the box size for the text, any ideas??
