B4J Question Pop 3

I have pop 3 working on b4j but my message is encoded and can't read it. I tried the message parser and it works but how do I get the message converted back to a string instead of a downloaded text file ? I figure I'm doing something wrong.

normal this is a ascii protocol and only file attachments are encoded in base64 or something.
and mails can be a mix of text & html.
