Hi all
i m making a new app, this app is to watch movies and series.
i know if i put this on google play, the google will remove this app (Rights)

But if i put on google play only a downloader app?

for example on google play i put only one simple app
- Splash with a msg downloading (This download its from another place not Google Play)

the google play can remove my app in this case?
on play store will have only a downloader app, this downloader will download another apk on my vps(host) and install this downloaded apk.

Ty all

It will probably be a voilation of their rules since you kind of promote illegal activities.

And I believe you're also not allowed to (ab)use Google Play to promote apps that are not published on their site.

I guess bullet 2 leads to bullet 1

  • Intellectual Property: Don’t infringe on the intellectual property rights of others, (including patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, and other proprietary rights), or encourage or induce infringement of intellectual property rights. We will respond to clear notices of alleged copyright infringement. For more information or to file a DMCA request, please visit our copyright procedures.

  • Illegal Activities: Keep it legal. Don't engage in unlawful activities on this product, such as the sale of prescription drugs without a prescription.

If your app is paying for each view that goes through the app then you're safe but that will costs a lot of money.

Compared it with organizing a party and that you have to pay for the record labels of which you played music.

This is common in Europe, not sure how it is overthere tho.

That's why a one hit wonder still receives money decades after their hit.

yes it is since you promote illegal activities that lead to copyright violations.

in the ideal world your provider should put your site down once a complaint comes in.

there are/were enough sites that just listed torrent links that were pulled down while they didn't even have the actual movie/music/soft on their servers.

but the intention for illegal activities was there and that's enough to put it offline.

a small addition...

overhere some sites like casino, warez sites are being blocked.

it seems that they are doing more against these bad/illegal sites the last years than the last 2 decades.

If you app downloads another APK outside of GP, it would trigger illegal activity which would result in being banned by Google!

another trigger is that you plan to charge fees for that (illegal) service.

providing links for free is one thing, making money on it will probably ends up in a higher scale once you reach court ;)

and as we all know court uses wet finger math and always exagerate their estimates for fines in the style of
you probably had x months the service running, with probably 2.000.000 users payin $4 or whatever that price was
that makes x * 4 * 2.000.000 * some_stupid_unexplained_indexing_figure = a lot of money
+ the movie companies who want their share back aswell for estimated profit loss.

I don't know if they still hunt'n bust people like they did a few years ago with the scandinavians who owned PirateBay
and branches/spinnoffs like mega-upload but I guess you should consider the risk especially now when providers are forced to handover customer details.

there's a documentary about the PB case maybe you should watch it first?

i remember on the past, i made this same app on google play, 4 months and no problems, 570.000 downloads, 45$ 50$ day.
i think i go make this only on my site now, and download only on website, brasil its a shit, dont have any problem with rights.

exist a lot of websites of movies here, making money with this and with adsense o_O

In Belgium I know cases where they busted people who just downloaded movies.

I agree when you act as peer and upload the stuff that you're more of a risk.

But I guess you're lucky then for living in Brasil ;)

In France, if you're caught for illegal download, you're warned the first and second times, then you can be sued. Not very dissuasive. On the contrary, people who manage a site are condemned to very big fines. The last one: 15.6 millions of euros for Dimitri Mader. He earned "only" 42000 euros with his illegal activity. Ouch !

indeed, they predict an amount of loss for the movie companies or record labels which can be way of what you actually earned if you even earned on it.

there are people who record tv shows and put it on you tube just to be the first to get some ad revenue,
but that's illegal aswell and can lead to 5 years of prison and a couple 100.000s fine in Belgium.

even translating movie content into subtitles is illegal as it is either copyrighted or some writer owns the rights to it.
