Hope somebody makes a mini-case for these. I picture something like a cheap, small, powered USB hub that you open up, drop a Zero into, and go. Maybe expose the MicroSD Slot and have shortie cords inside from the hub for data/power and a full-HDMI adapter built into the case. Then maybe a knockout to expose GPIO pins if you solder a header onto it.

Hmm, maybe I need to see what is on the market already that might be adapted to such a purpose. I don't really even need the card slot exposed or the HDMI video/audio for most projects. I just need a power supply and ports for a WiFi dongle and USB sensors.

$5 is really a low price. Can't be beaten. But you must consider that it requires a microSD card, a WiFi dongle, a monitor, a mouse/keyboard and most likely a real computer to program it. So saying that it is a $5 computer is not totally true. But I will surely buy some

Sold out everywhere And the sellers add >100% on the price. One sells it for over 50 GBP "with a kit". Then I can buy a Pi 2

Considered VNC (Virtual Network Computing)? Unless you are trying to make it into some sort of dancing bear toy PC to show your friends you'll probably run your RPi0 devices headless anyway.

that's the maket laws at work.... wait it out a few weeks, and as soon as the demand decreases, so will the price

I've been thinking of buying a Raspberry for some time now.
Didn't buy it yet because I don't have time to tinker with it. But at these prices, there's no excuse anymore.

I would start with a Pi 2 (50€ with power adapter and WiFi-Dongle). It is powerfull and has all the connectivity.

2 people are selling it on AliExpress but ridiculous high priced ($46-$48) for a $5 pcb.

then you're better of with a kit for the same price.

Guess I'll have some reading to do to compare all the options.

And spend some money on a romantic evening with the wife to get a 'green light' on buying one (or more) of these.
