Recording a WAV file?

I saw an old posting in the "wish list" section of the forum about a library for recording audio and it referenced a file "recorder.zip". Unfortunately, I am just testing this platform with a trial and cannot download this file. And it does not appear that this recording library is part of the base installation... Unless I am missing something OR is there some other way to record a WAV file from the built-in microphone? Thanks.

The trial version doesn't support libraries. You will not be able to record audio with it.

Ahhh. O.K.
So then, could you just answer a few questions regarding the "Recorder" library so I can know if it will do what I need...
1. Is there a limitation on how long the recording can be?
2. Can it encode in mp3 or is is JUST wav?
3. If it is just a WAV recorder then will I have the ability to choose between 8 bit or 16 bit and/or the ability to choose sample rate (11kHz, 22kHz, 44kHz).

I'm not deeply familiar with this library.
As I understand it:
1. There is no limitation.
2. Only WAV.
3. Not sure about this one.
