B4R Library rTone - playing tones on a passive buzzer

Sure you will figure it out...set your own frequency or use one of the 89 predefined Notes (frequencies).
Copy the Tone folder and its contents to your B4R additional libs folder.
Copy rTone.xml to the root of your additional B4R libs folder.

In the attached example I have the buzzer connected to pin 3 of my UNO.

The library does some of the "heavy lifting" when playing tones on a passive buzzer.

Nothing spectacular - just enjoying doing this.

It is a wrap for this library (although I have changed the original Tone.h file of the library)

Sample code:

B4X:
#Region Project Attributes
    #AutoFlushLogs: True
    #CheckArrayBounds: True
    #StackBufferSize: 300
#End Region

Sub Process_Globals
'These global variables will be declared once when the application starts.
'Public variables can be accessed from all modules.
    Public Serial1 As Serial
    Dim rt As Tone
Dim t As Timer 'we are going to use a timer to test the rt.stop function
Dim cnt As Byte = 0 'a counter - see t_tick (stopping the Tone when the counter = 10 (i.e 5 seconds into the original 10 second request)
End Sub

Private Sub AppStart
    Serial1.Initialize(115200)
    Log("AppStart")
rt.initialize(3) 'passive buzzer is connected to Pin 3 of my UNO
    t.Initialize("t_tick", 500) 'initialize the timer
t.Enabled = True 'enable the timer

'library includes 89 predefined notes - type rt.N to see the available predefined notes
rt.play(rt.NOTE_A7,10000) 'play predefined note A7 for 10 seconds - see t_tick where rt.stop is tested.

End Sub

Sub t_tick
If rt.isPlaying = True Then 'check if a tone is playing
        Log("IS PLAYING")
    Else
        Log("NOT PLAYING")
    End If
    cnt = cnt + 1
    If cnt = 10 Then
rt.stop 'testing to see if the tone stops playing when told to do so.
    End If

End Sub

Hello Johan,

I tried to use your library but I got this error:

Preparing boards...
Verifying...
Tone.cpp:24:27: error: avr/interrupt.h: No such file or directory
#include <avr/interrupt.h>

Probably you have some library installed on arduino folders others users dont have. Can you check what part of library is this one?

Thank you

Hello Alberto

I have interrupt.h in this folder path (part of the Arduino installation):
C:\Program Files (x86)\Arduino\hardware\tools\avr\avr\include\avr\interrupt.h
A Google search seems to indicate that it is not working with ESP devices. I have done and tested the lib with an UNO R3.
